Animal Hospital of Pasco coronavirus/COVID-19 precautions

This page was last updated June 9, 2020 at 1:00 PM.

Our hours of operation have not changed. We are open Monday-Friday 9am-6pm and Saturday 9am-12pm. We will be closed on July 4th.

If we are open and your pet needs immediate, life-saving care please come right in. Otherwise:

For your own safety and the safety of our at-risk clients and staff, when you arrive at the hospital please remain in your vehicle and text us at 360-386-5994.

Include your full name, vehicle make/color, pet’s name, and why you’re here. We will respond by call or text.

If you can’t text, please call us at 509-545-9949 and press 8 for reception. This will likely take longer, especially if call volume is high.

This information also appears on many signs outside the hospital.

We are currently providing essential services only. This includes examination and treatment of acute and rapidly progressing issues, chronic issues that have progressed to a severe stage, procedures necessary for patient comfort and pain control, initial vaccination series for puppies and kittens, and euthanasia for health reasons.

Regarding more routine services:

  • Rabies vaccinations can be performed.
  • Rattlesnake vaccinations (crotalus atrox toxoid) can be performed for at-risk patients.
  • Any routine service (other vaccinations, nail trims, ear plucks, etc.) can be performed if the patient is already in the hospital for an “essential service.” For example, a dog who is already in the hospital for diagnosis and treatment of a severe ear infection can have his/her nails trimmed at the same time. But if the patient only needs a nail trim, that is not something we’re currently scheduling.

Generally, elective procedures are not being scheduled. However, there are exceptions for cases with related pathologies (for example, neutering a dog with cryptorchidism) or cases where a procedure is very time-sensitive (for example, dewclaw removal for 3-5 day old puppies).

We will not be scheduling non-essential services until Franklin county enters phase 2 of the “Safe Start” reopening plan.

Remember, many routine requests can be handled through the PetDesk app (see links on our homepage). We are still dispensing foods and medications from our office. If you need prescription refills and want to limit exposure as much as possible, please know that most medications can be shipped from our office (typical shipping is via small flat-rate box (SmFRB) through USPS at a cost of $9.25 per mailing; shipments usually arrive in 2-3 days and tracking information is available if needed).

Please remember to practice good hygiene and social distancing. Learn more here: CDC guidelines for protecting yourself and others from COVID-19.

Thank you for being patient with us during this difficult time.
